Of all things in this world, there is for us to do. I believe this is the hardest! The scripture for this lesson is Philippians 3:13-14.

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of GOD in CHRIST JESUS.

When we sincerely repent and ask GOD to forgive us our sins. GOD immediately forgives us unconditionally. Have you ever thought what unconditionally means? GOD places no restriction, exception, or condition on our forgiveness. GOD does not say; I will forgive you this time but don’t let it happen again, or how many times am I going to have to forgive you of this, did not I just forgive you of this, why do you keep doing this over and over and expect that I should forgive you. GOD will never say these things or think these things. In Matthew 18:21-22. JESUS and Peter are talking:

Then Peter came to HIM and said, LORD, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times? JESUS said to him, I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy time seven.

In other words an infinite number of times or as many times as you ask for forgiveness. When you sincerely repent and ask for forgiveness GOD forgives you no matter how many times you have asked HIM. GOD never remembers your past sins. JESUS always forgives us unconditionally. Isn’t GOD wonderfull he never holds a grudge against us for past sins. He forgives unconditionally. AS followers of CHRIST we are to emulate HIM. To be like HIM.

Back to my original statement, the hardest thing is to forgive ourselves! WE show we have not forgiven our selves when making statements like; GOD may forgive me but I will never forgive myself, or GOD could never forgive me of this, or you don’t know the things I have done, or I’ve done so much wrong I am beyond help! All of these statements says this to GOD; I am or I will be a better judge of myself than you, GOD. You are putting yourself above GOD. JESUS came to earth, lived as a man, he went to the cross at Calvary for our sins, past, present, and future. JESUS paid our sin debt, there that day, long before you were born. If you repent of your sins and accept what JESUS did for you at the Cross. You are forgiven unconditionally!!!!!

To become like JESUS  CHRIST, FORGIVE YOURSELF, Also forgive others as Jesus forgave you unconditionally. You are a new creation in CHRIST. Learn from your mistakes. Do not let satan use them to beat yourself up and live in fear and misery. Forgive yourself as JESUS forgave you, UNCONDITIONALLY!!!!!!!

Reflect and meditate on this from 2 Corinthians 10:12; “For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

Live each and every day with JOY because YOU ARE FORGIVEN,  BE LIKE JESUS AND FORGIVE YOURSELF

JESUS I pray for everyone trying to deal with forgiving themselves. I ask in your name that you be with them on this journey. Help them deal with their past mistakes and forgive themselves, and enter into the eternal joy of forgiveness through you JESUS the CHRIST. AMEN
